Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Chef Luis's culinary journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication and remarkable talent. A Marine veteran, Chef Luis's passion for the culinary arts led him to the Institute of Culinary Education and the International Culinary Center in New York City. With experience at iconic New York establishments such as Le Bernardin, Aureole, and Union Square Cafe, Chef Luis's culinary expertise is second to none.

Chef Alicia: A Force in Hospitality

From the vibrant streets of Chicago to the corridors of the Air Force, Chef Alicia's journey is one of resilience and determination. With over 20 years of service in the Air Force, both active duty and in the reserves, Chef Alicia's commitment to excellence extends far beyond the kitchen. A graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education and the International Culinary Center, Chef Alicia's culinary talents are matched only by her dedication to service.

A Culinary Partnership

Together, Chefs Luis and Alicia form the heart and soul of Parlour 1886. Their shared love for food and hospitality is evident in every dish they create and every guest they welcome. With experience at esteemed establishments such as Print Restaurant and a recipient of the Le Dames Escoffier Scholarship, Chef Alicia brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our front of house operations.

A Journey of Faith, Love, and Family

Their journey began in Okinawa, Japan, where they met while serving in the military. From there, they embarked on a journey across the United States, from North Carolina to New York, New Jersey, and eventually finding their home in Kansas. Along the way, they were blessed with two beautiful children, who bring joy and laughter to their lives every day. Committed to serving Jesus Christ in everything they do; Chefs Luis and Alicia bring a spirit of love and faith to Parlour 1886.
